Staying Safe at Sea | Recording and Summary
Our final event for 2020 explored how legislation, outreach, technology and collaboration can improve fishing safety, and heard from a diverse array of voices from around the UK covering legislation, communication and technology. Overview of Changes for Fishermen from 1 January
Fishing News has collated an overview of the main changes the catch sector can expect to see from New Year’s Day, as the Brexit transition period draws to a close. The article covers licenses, access, effort limits, removal of fishing gear outside UK waters, and landing in EU ports.

Trial and Test Phase for Fish Export Service
The MMO is urging fish exporters to test out the trial version of the new Fish Export Service, which is available until 18 December. Fish exporters can practice creating sample catch certificates, processing and storage documents, before the official launch on 29 December.

Fisheries Act 2020 Full Text Released
The new Fisheries Act is now officially part of UK law, and is publicly available here. The APPG on Fisheries Secretariat will soon be publishing a digest of the Act's key points - look out for it on social media, on our website and in your inbox.
