New Fisheries and Seafood Scheme for England
Defra has launched the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme, which will support projects in England that secure sustainable growth across the catching, processing and aquaculture sectors, and that protect and enhance the marine environment. Funding will be issued to support seven strategic priorities.

Provisional Catch Limits Set for Rest of 2021
The Government has set provisional catch limits for UK-EU shared fish stocks for the remainder of 2021, or until an agreement is reached with the EU. Though a full agreement has not been reached, the limits reflect progress in negotiations. The UK also remains open to quota swaps with the EU for 2021.

Scallop Fishing to Resume Around Dogger Bank
Scallop fishing in UK waters of the North Sea around Dogger Bank can resume from 5 April except in the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) where a closure will remain in place. This follows a series of closures last year after discussions with the industry about sustainable management of the stock.
